The Holiday Inn & Suites Express is sold out but the La Quinta Inn & Suites next door has plenty of rooms.  They quoted a rate of $89 for a Single King & $99 for a double. I will call the manager in the morning to see if we can get a group rate for a block of rooms.

Online registration for the TPKC North Texas Karters event has been extended until Wednesday June 27th with an increase in race entry fee to $90.

Host Hotel & Free Rooms!
The North Texas Karters host hotel is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Denton which is located just a few minutes south of the track on I35 South. Call 1-940-808-0600 ask for the North Texas Karters rate Standard King & Double Queen $89, Executive King & Double Queen $109. Holiday Inn & Suites has given us four free room certificates, we will be giving away 2 free room certificates at each drivers meeting on both Saturday & Sunday. All racers staying at the Holiday Inn & Suites Denton will have thier names entered into the drawing for the free hotel room certificates.

Pit Spot Rules
The spots are limited to 40 feet deep. All chase cars will have to be parked at the end of pit runner in the field. Tow vehicles and trailers where there are large tent setups may be parked lengthwise, but not to exceed the 40' line markers that will be painted on the ground. We need to keep access for emergency vehicles clear. If you have a tent service please advise tent erectors to stay off the pit runner concrete at least five feet for driving in their stakes so as not to interupt underground wiring. All electrical outlets are 15 amp rating, so no air conditioners can be run off the pit runner outlets. If you need multiple pit spaces together email John Ray mostl32@att.net Pit space reservations will be cut off on 22 June and will be posted in or at the window in the gatehouse as well as marked on the pit runner.  After Friday June 22nd all spots are first come first take, and one spot per entry only, extra cars must be parked in the field at the end of the pit runner. The 10' X 40' per entry pit space will be enforced to ensure pit space for everyone.

Championship Points
The best of 5 out of 6 races will determine the series class champions, one race will count as a drop.

Grandsport Speedway hosted its first ever regional karting event as the growing Texas ProKart Challenge (TPKC) presented by 3G Kart Racing/Burger King™/Fernelius Alvarez Attorneys visited the facility on June 1-3. The open 1.3-mile course in Hitchcock, Texas provided a very fast course for the series to contend rounds three and four of the six event championship program. The weekend was co-promoted by 3G and Gulf Coast Karters, who moved most of their barriers, PA system, and timing and scoring equipment across town to properly host the event. Over 80 entries contested the three-day event under the Superkarts! USA and United States Rotax Max Challenge regional banners, providing some exciting racing that kept people on the pit wall throughout the day.

The Texas ProKart Challenge Series is gaining momentum with a total of 159 entries at Grandsport Speedway for the 3rd and 4th rounds. The largest class were the shifters with 35 entries. The series picked up a couple of local option classes, the Yamaha KT100 and Chondas and looks forward to seeing more entries in those classes. Several racers traveled from Louisiana and we look forward to seeing them again at North Texas Karters in Denton.

Online registration is now open for the final rounds of the Texas ProKart Challenge Series hosted at North Texas Karters June 29 - July 1. You can register on the website www.texasprokartchallenge.com or Facebook page at www.facebook.com/texaspkc Online registration closes  Sunday June 24th at midnight. The series has been gaining in momentum with 162 entries at the Grandsport Speedway event and another large turnout anticipated for the NTK event.
